Dalia is a healthy and a very versatile food. This dalia upma loaded with vegetables makes a healthy and filling breakfast

Ingredients:

• Broken wheat (dalia)- 1 cups
• Cumin seeds (jeera)- ½ tsp.
• Carrot- 1 small
• Potatoes-1
• Onions-2 small
• Ginger- Garlic paste- 1 tsp.
• Salt, to taste
• A pinch of turmeric powder
• Chilli powder, to taste
• Coriander leaves, for garnishing
• Sunflower Oil- 1 tbsp.

Preparation:

1. In a heavy bottomed pan, roast daliya for 7 minutes on a low flame and keep aside. To the same pan, heat oil and add jeera seeds and onions. Add roasted dalia and mix well.
2. Then add chopped vegetables and stir for 2 minutes.
3. Add salt, turmeric and red chilli powder; add 2 to 4 cups of hot boiling water. Cover and cook till the vegetables are tender.
4. Serve hot.
